Chaplain’s Thought on the Last Saturday 2020

“We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.” (Psalm 20:5)

 

Because of the continuing coronavirus pandemic, the banners of the Royal Black Institution will not be set up for our Last Saturday demonstrations in Northern Ireland this year, and, no doubt, this will be a great disappointment for our Sir Knights and many other people who see this as a highlight of the marching season. Instead, why not spend some time today in prayer thanking God for our civil and religious liberties which normally enable us to parade, and rejoice that in the Lord Jesus Christ he is the God of our salvation. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, but have you received it and are you rejoicing in it?
